90210

September 30, 2010

It’s been a long time. And this is not at all the show you remember. But is it really that different? Would you even really notice the difference? Am I talking about 90210 or this podcast? Listen now, and forget I asked any of these questions.

You may not know any of them, but there are millions of people watching the new 90210. Two of them try to explain themselves to me in this episode.

Pineapple Express

August 12, 2008

Is Pineapple Express a competent blending of comedy and violence or a nauseating mix of the two? Is it peanut butter and chocolate or milk and orange juice? Does boredom lead to discomfort? Or maybe the other way around? You can let us know about that last one after you listen to this episode.

And, as mentioned within, please leave your suggestions for movies we should discuss. Really this is a shot in the dark on your part, so we’re not expecting much. So the pressure’s off. Lucky you. Ooh. We should watch Lucky You. See how easy this is? Now you go.

Swing Vote

August 7, 2008

John Dalton gets slapped in the face by Hollywood’s vision of the real America.

Next week: Pineapple Express.  Not Pineapple Express and Tropic Thunder as indicated within.  They do not get released on the same day.  I don’t know what happened there.

DVD Extra – Funny Games

August 2, 2008

As promised, we talk about Dalton’s favorite movie of pre-Dark Knight 2008, Funny Games. Which winds up being the kind of thing we thought we’d get when we started doing this.

Stepbrothers

August 2, 2008

A couple of do overs involving this week’s release Stepbrothers. First, it’s Dalton’s second time seeing the movie (he saw an early cut of it months ago) and then again because we lost our first attempt at talking about it. There’s some dissent concerning the necessity of rerecording and a discussion of Stepbrothers, but otherwise, not very contentious. Which somehow isn’t as disappointing as it sounds.

The Dark Knight

July 22, 2008

So yes, this is a podcast about movies.  By two people who supposedly don’t agree on anything.  As stated within, we don’t aspire to be reviewers.  We’re not interested in trying to get you see (or not see) a particular thing, we’d much rather you see what we’re talking about beforehand.  Which isn’t going to be a problem with this first show.

We agree a little too much for the first time out, but I’m not sure how devisive we could have realistically expected The Dark Knight to be.  And yet, there’s plenty of minor aspects over which to quibble.  So take a side already.
